Satellite Agreement
Washington, DC, USA – September 9, 2021: Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES), an innovator in satellite and multi-transport technologies and networks for 50 years, and OneWeb, the Low Earth satellite communications company, today announced the signing of a distribution agreement in the United States focused on business services. In India, the parties signed a strategic memorandum of understanding for the distribution of services to large enterprises, small and medium-sized enterprises, governments, telecommunications companies and ISPs in rural and remote areas of the country. GSA`s satellite communications contracts support the joint acquisition of COMSATCOM (FCSA) services between GSA and the DoD. Today`s agreement expands the relationship between the two companies. Hughes is an investor in OneWeb through its parent company EchoStar. It is also a partner in the OneWeb ecosystem, which develops the gateway electronics and the basic module that powers each user terminal for the system. And Hughes is the prime contractor for an agreement with the U.S. Air Force Research Lab to integrate and demonstrate the SATCOM LEO SYSTEM managed using OneWeb`s capabilities in the Arctic. Satellite agreements By 31 March each year, the beneficiary shall submit progress reports documenting the compliance status of each satellite system for the previous year.

The test, recorded on August 26, included successful, transparent, real-time switching between Hughes JUPITER 2`s Jupiter 2 geostationary satellite (HTS) and OneWeb`s high-speed, low-latency LEO constellation. Colsa provides basic data transfer services to customers via Echostar. COMSAT Mobile Communications (CMC) is delivered worldwide via the Inmarsat system. EDS offers a fully integrated remote learning feature that includes end-to-end satellite services as well as comprehensive connectivity integration and maintenance support. HGS offers a variety of fixed, broadcast and mobile services. These offerings include satellite bandwidth, VSAT, teleports, terminals, Iridium, Inmarsat, ORBCOMM, DirectPC, OneTouch and others. JTA provides cellular services and equipment via Iridium and Inmarsat satellites. Marshall Associates, Inc. provides broadband distance learning services. Motorola Worldwide Information Network Services (M-WINS) provides Iridium services for global communications. Last year, FTS awarded four similar contracts for commercial satellite services and equipment.
However, the agency`s requirements meant that the scope and length of the offers needed to be expanded. Initially, the Government Alliance for Training and Education (GATE) needed broadband distance learning services and equipment that were not available in previous contracts. Second, previous contracts had short performance periods, but clients wanted longer-term contracts to meet current and future needs. Finally, faced with a rapidly changing and growing mobile market, customers wanted access to the services of new entrants. OneWeb is building its first constellation of 648 LEO satellites. The services will be launched this year in the Arctic, including Alaska, Canada and the United Kingdom. By the end of 2022, OneWeb will offer its high-speed, low-latency connectivity services worldwide. Service tests on the satellites, which are already in orbit, are underway, using gateways that Hughes is building for the network. The results are positive, including transparent satellite and beam transfers, high speeds and low latency.
WASHINGTON – The U.S. General Services Administration`s Federal Technology Service (FTS) awarded a series of satellite service contracts on Feb. 1. These contracts, which have been awarded to several satellite contractors, offer a wide range of fixed, mobile and satellite broadcasting commercial services and equipment. Contracts are fixed-price, open-ended, indeterminate (IDIQ) and are available to all federal agencies. Each contract has a base term of one year and five other one-year options. CS3 is a key component of the Future of COMSATCOM Services Acquisition (FCSA) program and a strategic partner of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). FscA creates an optimized and easy-to-use solution for all government needs in commercial satellite communications. Complex Commercial SATCOM Solutions (CS3) replaced the old CS2 and CS2-Small Business contracts while meeting the ongoing requirements and objectives of government agencies.
